Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Download Twin from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with your Google or Apple account, verify your phone number via SMS, and complete the onboarding questionnaire. Our AI will start finding matches for you right away.
Why do I need to verify my phone number?
Phone verification helps us maintain a safe, authentic community. It prevents fake accounts and ensures every user is a real person. Your phone number is kept private and never shared with other users.
Is Twin free to use?
Yes, Twin is free to download and use. You can create a profile, receive AI-curated matches, and chat with your matches at no cost. Twin+ is an optional premium subscription that unlocks additional features like unlimited matches and advanced filters.
AI Matching
How does AI matching work?
Twin's AI gets to know you through a natural conversation about your interests, values, and what you're looking for. Based on your responses, it analyzes compatibility with other users and presents you with highly matched profiles, each with a compatibility score.
Can I improve my match quality?
The more you interact with Twin, the better your matches become. Chat with the AI, provide feedback on your matches, and keep your profile updated. The AI continuously learns from your preferences.
What are icebreakers?
When you match with someone, Twin suggests three personalized conversation starters based on your shared interests and compatibility. You can use them as-is, customize them, or write your own message.
Account & Privacy
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm by typing "DELETE". Once confirmed, your profile and data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
Can I hide my profile temporarily?
Yes, you can pause your profile in Settings. This hides you from new matches while keeping your existing conversations and data intact.
How is my data protected?
We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest. We never sell your personal information. You can request a copy of your data or request deletion at any time. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Twin+ Subscription
What does Twin+ include?
Twin+ unlocks unlimited daily matches, advanced filters (education, lifestyle, values), the ability to see who liked you, priority AI matching, and read receipts. Pricing starts at $14.99/month with discounts for quarterly and annual plans.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store. On iOS, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. On Android, go to Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. Contact Apple Support or Google Play Support to request a refund for your subscription.
Safety
How do I report someone?
Tap the three-dot menu on any user's profile or in a conversation, then select "Report." Choose the reason for your report and provide any additional details. Our safety team reviews all reports within 24 hours.
How do I block someone?
Tap the three-dot menu on a user's profile or in a conversation and select "Block." The blocked user will no longer be able to see your profile or contact you. You can manage blocked users in Settings.
What should I do if I feel unsafe?
If you feel unsafe, trust your instincts. Block and report the user immediately. If you are in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement. You can also reach our safety team at safety@thetwin.app for urgent concerns.
